Amana Living Strategic Business Review

Positive feedback and a personal email of thanks from the Chairman were received following this project, all of which recognised the depth of analysis undertaken to support the challenging recommendations.

The Situation

Amana Living is a large, established, charitable aged care agency of the Anglican Diocese of Perth.

The Board of Amana Living sought DRG’s assistance to reach an informed decision about an important initiative they were considering.

Working with DRG

DRG undertook comprehensive market, client and competitor research.

Stakeholder research explored brand performance, market position, product offerings, pricing, and workforce growth projections.

Competitor analysis necessitated in-depth secondary research analysis of the WA aged cared sector. DRG identified competitor threats (using Porter’s competitive analysis tool), direct and indirect competitors, and collaborative opportunities.

Identification of emerging trends and market potential required extensive analysis of the aged care sector. DRG identified four new market potential opportunities and conducted extensive research and analysis to determine the depth of each opportunity.

Planned growth strategies were also explored. Comprehensive research and market analysis was used to test the market potential, depth and viability of two new opportunities previously identified by the client.

The Results

DRG presented a series of recommendations reflecting the research findings.

This was a particularly sensitive project because the findings identified stakeholder dissatisfaction and a lack of suitable resources and infrastructure. There was also inadequate evidence to support either of the planned growth strategies and considerable investments required to maintain the business initiative.

Positive feedback and a personal email of thanks from the Chairman were received following this project, all of which recognised the depth of analysis undertaken to support the challenging recommendations.
