CPC Engineering is a firm with a long-term presence in the Goldfields, providing engineering consulting, design and construction, workshop fabrication, scaffolding and labour hire services.
The recent spike in mining activity led to rapid growth for the company and they had expanded quickly, opening multiple offices around the state and employing over 180 staff.
The firm required a strategic assessment of their business, focusing on the need to capitalize on general growth opportunities and specific market opportunities for each service area. They also wanted to ensure on-site teams were able to promote the firm’s other services.
working with drg
DRG initially carried out two intensive stakeholder research projects.
Undertaking interviews across all operational offices and client groups, DRG sought to ascertain the performance of each service being delivered. They also aimed to identify market opportunities and highlight areas where the firm could improve performance.
This research gave DRG insight into how the firm’s brand was perceived by its major clients and pinpointed where immediate improvements could be made to the brand.
The outcome was a series of practical recommendations that the client has embraced and is beginning to implement with the support of DRG’s consultants.
DRG's research and recommendations have provided the company’s General Manager with in-depth and wide-ranging evidence upon which to base future business decisions. He now has detailed information about areas of service in which the business can improve and locations into which it can expand.
This information will be crucial to the business as it moves into a phase of growth and consolidation.
